Want to get ahead in life? Watch less TV and more financial tutorials. Here is one to start you off.
One of my close friends gave me a gift that changed my life about 6 years ago. It was a book called “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. Since then, i’ve been on a journey of financial freedom and the more I learn the more I want to share with you. Check out this video below…I hope it will open your eyes as much as it did mine! You can thank me later : )
I use to live in Miami but now I live in Atlanta, so it was a little wierd because I didn’t know who to root for lol, but never-the-less…I enjoyed the game from the #VIP Suite with my mentor and girlfriends… I got to meet the talented #MiamiHeat dancers and Lil David Oh…and I got a basket ball signed by the whole Heat team. Merry Christmas to me! : D
I apologize if I’m laying it on too heavy today but…I have a lot to say:
Parents divorced when I was 6
Went to Jamaican (the island) to live with extended family 6
Went to an all-girl boarding school at 10 & stayed there for the next 4 years
Went into foster care at 15 (for the next two years)
Within those 2 years when through 10 different homes and 6 high schools
& still manage to complete high school & start college at 16
Got my first job & driver’s license by 16
Got emancipated (legally declared an adult) & been on my own since 17
Bought my own car & got my first apartment at 17
Pursued my dream of modeling & acting on my own at 18
my biological mom died when I was 19 ..after fighting breast cancer for the 2nd time
I started my own talent agency at 21
I packed my things and drove cross country from Florida to Los Angeles at 22
In LA I met a mentor who encouraged me to write a book
I finished the book when I was 24
I started my own publishing company & published it at 25
Pursuing my dream has allowed me to meet some people, go to some places & obtain some things that I never would have otherwise. Yea I thought about throwing in the towel many times…but I didn’t. I heard it all…that I was going to drop out of high school and get pregnant or end up with aids. I wasn’t tall enough to model, I wasn’t pretty enough to model, I was going to get to Los Angeles and start doing porn. Well….none of that applied to me because I stayed focus & stayed true to myself. I haven’t had to work a job in 10 years!! and i’m still in my twenties. If you have a dream…don’t EVER give up. Its those who are closest to you that have the power to kill your dreams…if they’re negative you have to cut them off…family or not. Stay focused and take every opportunity that comes your way because you never know which opportunity will open up which door for you. Only you can feel that burning desire in your heart…don’t let that fire die. You owe it to yourself to give your dream a shot…you don’t have to see the whole picture now, but just take the first step and trust your instincts and trust God…things will become clearer…just take the fist step. : ) Love -MissBaje
